Vice President William Ruto has added State Department Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Ababu Namwamba to his growing presidential campaign team.

In a statement released Wednesday, February 9, it was announced that Namwamba would be appointed as Head of International Affairs as the DP aims to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.

I have worked closely with Ababu on many fronts over the past 10 years and I have come to value his leadership, experience, focus and empathy. Because of these qualities, I could not be more grateful to have him on our campaign team.

“With significant diplomatic capabilities, deep knowledge of the continent, strong network on the global stage and unwavering determination. I trust the leadership role. Read partially “international relations in my presidential campaign”.

Ruto praised Namwamba as a talented professional active on international assignments.

"Namwamba has an extremely impressive profile as a public interest lawyer and has previously been very active in the international lobbying circuit, vigorously defending international human rights and fair trade practices," the statement said.

Namwamba previously stated that he would not run for any elective seat in the August 2022 elections and added that he would work closely with Ruto to achieve his presidential goals.

“I will work very closely with Ruto to hand over his presidency. I believe it offers a fresh start to this country. "I believe this country is on the verge of a new beginning with a paradigm shift in how Kenyan affairs can be managed," he said.

Namwamba joins the secretariat, which consists of Josphat Nanok, the Governor of Turkana, who chairs it, and Hussein Mohamed, former Citizen TV presenter in charge of communications.

An update by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Twitter on Monday (January 24th) announced the big money move on Super Monday for second-in-command by Hussein's hunt for Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua, alias Jaguar, hours ago.

Speaking on the go, Hussein was delighted to reunite with the Vice President regarding his bottom-up ideology that was supposed to lead him to victory over his opponents.

“Asante (Thanks) Your Highness! I share the scammer story and so do most Kenyans. Nothing gives me more pleasure from being part of this team that is driving a paradigm shift in our politics and ultimately in governance! Top down, bottom up!” shared on social media.
