R Kelly Found Guilty In Child Pornography Trial

Following his conviction for sex trafficking and racketeering in a separate federal case in Brooklyn, Kelly, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, was given a 30-year prison sentence in June.

After an 11-hour deliberation period that began on Tuesday afternoon, the jury found him guilty in the Chicago trial. (13.09.22)

Kelly was accused of filming himself having sex with underage girls and of manipulating his 2008 state trial on child porn charges, both of which led to his acquittal.

Milton Brown, a co-defendant who was a friend of Kelly's, was charged with conspiring to receive child porn.

According to CBS Chicago, both have been found not guilty on all counts.

Robert Kelly abused numerous girls for many years, according to assistant US attorney Elizabeth Pozolo, who testified before the jury.

He perpetrated heinous crimes against children... After all these years, Robert Kelly's secret self has finally surfaced.

Graphic videos of Kelly abusing his then-14-year-old goddaughter were among the damning evidence against him. This witness, who testified under the name Jane, became the prosecution's key witness in the case.

"That child, who had never had any sexual experiences before in her life, was forced to lay on that floor while that man sitting right over there urinated on her," Pozolo said in her closing argument before the jury adjourned for deliberations.

The footage of that humiliating act will live on forever. That mistreatment will always be remembered.

Jane, who is now 37, gave testimony that Kelly had sex with her "countless" times, as well as with other teenage girls he asked her to bring into their relationship.

"Perjurers, blackmailers, and extortionists" were how Kelly's attorneys described the prosecution's witnesses.

Kelly's current 30-year sentence could be lengthened due to the new conviction.

Additionally, the singer is facing two more trials: one in Minnesota and one in a Chicago state court.
